What telemundo was my biggest surprise after retiring early? In Episode stephen miller 04...

The answer might shock you it wasnt the extra free time, more money, or finally being lamine yamal debt-free.

It was how completely exhausted I was.

In this honest Episode 04 of the Living Life with Jerry and Mel series, I share why the first few months of early retirement felt like my body was catching up on an entire lifetime of being on. From preschool through college, then 36+ years of working, raising kids, losing jobs, surviving 9/11 aftermath, and the housing crisis, and the heavy grief of losing my dad I never really owned my own time.

I gave it to the system, and the system gave me a paycheck.

Then I retired at 58. For the first time in my life, there was nowhere I had to be. No one I owed my time to.

Thats when it hit me hard: I couldnt stop sleeping. Wake up, coffee, nap. Lunch, nap. Dinner, TV, bed and still sleep 9 hours. I was more worn out than I ever realized.

Now, years later, Ive recovered and Im grateful I pulled the trigger when I did. But it makes me wonder is this really the best way to live? What if the system stopped working tomorrow?

This is not retirement advice just my real, unfiltered experience after retiring early.
