These are relatively cheap devices and are essentially disposable, so if you find one you can usually keep it! I used the website to track one that landed nearby, and found it right away! This was the first one I've ever looked for, so I was surprised to have success on the first try. Often these land in inconvenient spots, so hunting them can be a bit of a challenge!
