Tina Kotek to invoke Oregons Emergency Conflagration Act.Kotek invoked the act July 11 after the Grant County Fire Defense Board chief and the Grant County judge requested assistance with life, safety and structural fire protection. The State Fire Marshal concurred with the request. Under Oregon law, Kotek determined that a threat to life, safety and property exists because of the fire and that the threat exceeds the firefighting capabilities of local personnel and equipment.
