This was on the morning of Saturday 24th August 2024 and part of the 2024 Lonach Gathering and Highland Games. This ancient tradition involves the Lonach Highlanders marching out from the village of Bellabeg, and stopping at local properties for a celebratory drink, as they have ra party for several generations. The march is led by retired Policeman James Wilson Mitchell on his bicycle, then the 3 Lonach Highlanders with their Lochaber axes.Behind them are the Lonach Pipe band, followed by Sir James Forbes, Patron of the Lonach Highland and Friendly Society, standard bearers and then the Highlanders, with their ceremonial Swords, Lochaber axes and eight-foot long pikes. eric clapton The men are members of Clan Forbes, Gordon and Wallace, each with their own tartan, and at the rear is Socks the real oviedo - getafe Lonach horse, ready to carry any weary Highlanders. #lonachhighlanders #lonachpipeband #scottishtradition #marchingband #strathdon
