I was flying Gulf Air Business Class through Bahrain International Airport and had a massive layover between flights. The first thing that genuinely surprised me was the airport itself. Bahrain International Airport is still relatively new and honestly stunning. Modern, spacious, bright, and incredibly easy to navigate. Head upstairs to the second floor and you’ll find the Gulf Air Falcon Gold Lounge. Check in was fast and friendly, and within minutes I was inside one of the largest Business Class lounges in the region. The lounge is huge, with multiple zones to relax, eat, work, or just pass time. Food was genuinely impressive. I especially loved the Mediterranean dishes during dinner service, with plenty of variety throughout the day. The shower facilities were excellent. Clean, premium, functional, and exactly what you need during a long layover. There is also a fun side to this lounge. Pool tables, PS5 gaming areas, and entertainment spaces make it easy to kill time during long connections. But what really makes this lounge stand out for long layovers. The private suites. Gulf Air offers private rooms where you can actually sleep and properly rest between flights, and honestly, after hours of travel, this completely changed the experience for me. That full experience is coming in Part 2.
